Mabel Louise Smith died Nov. 5. She was 89.

She was born Sept. 12, 1916 in Brainerd, Minn. She was a long-term resident of Des Moines.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Sweetman, and one grandchild, both of Federal Way. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her son, Gary, and husband Bob.

A memorial service was held Nov. 12 at Riverton Crest Cemetery.
