Longtime Federal Way resident Lora Louise Noyes Stedman passed away Aug. 25, 2010, at her Belmor Mobile Home Park home, surrounded by family members. She was 75 years old. Lora and her husband Bud, who passed away in 2000, moved to Federal Way in 1973, when there were green pastures and a dirt road connecting 320th Street to Belmor Park, which is just south of The Commons mall. Lora loved traveling, bingo, playing cards at the Belmor clubhouse, and helping others. Her volunteer caretaking duties spanned decades and included family members and friends. She also served as the Belmor Park beautician, giving shampoos and permanents to numerous residents. Born in Helena, Montana, on June 11, 1935, to Ed and Marjorie Noyes, Lora grew up in the Seattle area. She worked at Van de Kamp’s Bakery for numerous years, and also United Airlines in the food service department. She is survived by a brother Loren Noyes of Seattle, daughters Patricia Duerr (Brent) of Eugene, Ore., Ginger Pace (Wayne) of Federal Way, sons Larry Stedman (Cindy) of Newcastle, Wash., Rick Stedman of Yakima, and David Stedman (Suzanne) of Seattle, 23 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. A son, Rick Beuchler, died in 1996. A private family memorial service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 10. Lora will rejoin Bud in this bucolic military resting place in Kent. A celebration of life will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Belmor Park.
