Joseph Kainoa died Nov. 15 in Federal Way. He was 86.
He was born March 14, 1917, in Kohala, Hawaii. He later worked as a cowboy on the Parker Ranch. He also owned and operated a waste-management company and was a member of the Hawaii 50th Club.
He moved to Federal Way five years ago, coming from southern California.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne of Federal Way; a son, James Kainoa of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Ann Garris of Elizabeth Town, Ind.; and a brother, William Kainoa of Los Angeles.
A funeral service was conducted Nov. 21 at Calvary Temple in Auburn.
Arrangements were by Yahn and Son Funeral Home.
