John Clarence Brownson of Federal Way died April 8. He was 84.
He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Nov. 23, 1921. He was a Federal Way resident for nine years.
He was a captain in the Marines for 20 years, worked for Boeing as an electrical engineer for 10 years and served as an emergency services director for Snohomish County.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 2886 in Federal Way.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Sandy Crawford of Federal Way; a sister, Laura Holler of Charlerio, Pa.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. April 12 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. An on-line guest book can be signed at www.klontzfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, theh family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
