Joel Giskin, a longtime resident of the Twin Lakes area, died Oct. 13. He was 62.

He was born in New York City on Oct. 26, 1940 to Charles and Lillian Giskin.

He graduated in 1969 with an MBA from San Jose State College and went to work as a civilian Air Force employee at Lockheed Sunnyvale. After marrying in 1972, he and his family relocated to Federal Way, where he went to work as the corporate administrative contract officer for the Air Force at Boeing. After retiring in 1988, he became a manager with the government contract advisory services group of the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; a son, Daniel Giskin; daughters Kim Sedlacek and Tracy Belaire; his mother, Lillian Giskin; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Federal Way.

The family suggests rememberances be made to the American Diabetes Association.
