Mr. Jason Lopaka James Richert Mathias also known as “Jake Leota” was born early Saturday morning in Honolulu, Hawaii at 4:19 A.M. on July 27, 1974. He went home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Wednesday morning in Federal way, Washington at around 5 A.M. on September 20, 2023. He was the third out of Gwendolyn Leinaala Leota’s six children. 1 son passed away in late 1980 due to complications after birth, 4 are still living. He was the youngest son of Mr. John William Mathias jr.
He gained a bonus dad when Gwendolyn remarried, to Mr. Fomai T. Leota in 1985. Jason had the love of all 3 parents. He was truly the heart of his “Mom” as with all her children. Affectionately referred to as Mommy’s 5 J’s.
He is survived by both his dads and 4 siblings Janelle,Jarrett,Jalei (Mr. Jasper H. Graham) & Jordan. 6 Nieces and 3 Nephews. Alijah, Noa,Kamaile, ianele & iokua (twins), Ali’ilani, Leialoha, Leila, & Kikilani. Uncle Makini Sailele and cousin/god sister Trina Kia Sailele. Loving God parents Mary & Joe Nofoa. Best friend Christopher James Ellis and countless family and friends. He was a Warrior who beat stage 4 lung cancer twice & experienced God’s miracle 1st hand and we consider him to be the strongest person we know. He is DEEPLY LOVED and will be Missed until we reunite with him and our Mom in Heaven.

Jason’s mission on earth was to give hope to all about Jesus and would always say NEVER GIVE UP! & … ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD!
