Iola Pfeifer died June 15 in Federal Way. She was 82.
She was born Aug. 27, 1921 in Gordon, Neb. She married Clair Pfeifer on Feb. 27, 1942 in Cheyenne, Wyo. She worked at Boeing during the 1950s and, with her husband, owned and operated Cristy’s Tavern in Renton in the 1960s. When they moved from Burien to Mason Lake in 1972, she opened a beauty salon and operated it until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of Mason-Benson Community Hall.
Survivors include sons Merle Pfeifer of Puyallup and Richard Pfeifer of Algona; a daughter, Lynda Blake of Kent; a brother-in-law and his wife, Leon and Margie Pfeifer of Kent; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial in SeaTac.
