Helen Ruth Van Noy, 83, died June 8 in Tacoma.

She was born April 23, 1920 in Barronett, Wis., and was a Federal Way resident since 1943.

She retired in 1981 as a school teacher from the Derringer School District.

She was a charter member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and a member of Pacific Lutheran University Alumni.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Oliver of Federal Way; children James Van Noy of Carnation, William Van Noy of Montesano and Marie Gibson of Puyallup; brothers Carroll Rieck of Olympia and her twin, Robert Rieck of Dupont; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Van Noy, and a sister, Hazel Bartlet.

Memorial services were held June 12 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements were by Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Church Building Fund, 515 S. 312th St., Federal Way, WA 98003.
