March 31, 1968- February 21, 2024

Edwin Shumpert Jr was born on Sunday March 31, 1968 in Wilson, AR and passed away with family present February 21, 2024 in Tacoma, WA. Edwin Jr was the son of Edwin E. Shumpert Sr and Dorothy Williams Shumpert and brother to Anthony Shumpert. He was a varsity football player and graduated from Federal Way High School and went on to obtain an AA degree from Green River College, a BA from WSU in Psychology & Aging and a Master’s in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Public University. Edwin was a person with a caring heart as big as a house and claimed every person he met as a friend. On February 11, 2024 he suffered a massive stroke to the brain and sadly, it was too much with no promise of recovery.

A memorial service in celebration of Edwin Jr’s life will be held for family and friends at 1PM Saturday March 16, 2024 in the chapel of the New Tacoma Cemeteries, Funeral Home and Crematory in Tacoma, WA.
