Edwin Rortvedt died Oct. 12, 2006, at age 89.

Born July 8, 1917, in Tagus, N.D., Rortvedt was a resident of Federal Way for 57 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Thelma; son Kermit (Trish); daughters Janice Pool (Dale), Valerie Timmons (Tim), Deborah Dill (Jim); nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A private committal service will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery. A celebration of his life was held Oct. 17 at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 2400 SW 344th St., Federal Way.
