David lost his battle with cancer on September 14, 2012. He was born on January 1, 1963 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Millington, Tennessee to Danny and June Hallin. He is survived by his parents and his two brothers – Don and Danny Jr. David loved to fish anywhere he could find some water. He got to catch his biggest trout while fishing with his younger brother, Danny the month before his demise. He also loved the mobile catering business he owned and operated in the two years preceding his illness.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public service. However, the family encourages donations in his name to the American Cancer Society and Franciscan Hospice Care of Tacoma.
