Clarence Raymond (Ray) Gillespie died April 13 in Federal Way. He was 78.
He was born Dec. 5, 1925 in Independence, Mo. to Clarence and Ethyl Gillespie.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from William Jewel College in Liberty, Mo., and he married Phyllis Osborn on March 3, 1950 in St. Louis, Mo.
H worked in the feed industry before retiring in Salem, Ore. He moved to Federal Way in 1991.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years; children Cheryl Aker of Spokane, Linda Northcutt of Bothell, Deb Perry of Everett and Tom Gillespie of Kalispell, Mont.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held April 17 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Federal Way.
