Clara Jacobs Bench died Oct. 20 in Federal Way, her home since 1968.
She was 94.
She was born to Willis and Margaret Jacobs on May 10, 1909 in Billings, Mont. She was baptized in the First Baptist Church.
She married John Bench on Dec. 31, 1928 in Springfield, Ore.
She taught Sunday school and served in the Women’s Missionary Circle. She was a member of Christ’s Church in Federal Way, Neighbors of Woodcraft, Concerned Women for America, and Grand Army of the Republic, an organization memorializing the Union army of the Civil War (her great-grandfather died in the war).
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Pairlee Annette Audett of Federal Way; a son, Gordon Bench; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were conducted Oct. 23 at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle. Arrangements were by Bonney-Watson Federal Way.
