Carolyn passed away on May 7, 2018 in Des Moines,Washington. She was born on February 27, 1927 in Salem, Oregon to Dr. Charles E Bates and Stella M Bates.
She grew up in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Carolyn started her college education at Willamette University and completed her education at Pacific University. She taught elementary school in Salem.
Carolyn married Norman B Anderson. Along with her two boys they moved to Washington in 1966 where she had daughter Cynthia.
She worked as an elementary school teacher, travel agent and also was a part owner of a clothes consignment shop. Carolyn enjoyed boating, golf, and travel. She was a member of PEO, and Twin Lakes G &CC.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of fifty one years, sons Dr Kenneth Prince (Angela), Steven Prince (Mauria) and daughter Cynthia Anderson, granddaughters Jennifer Prince (Jeremy), Jessica Prince, and Jillian Hall (Raphael) and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Dr Stanley G Bates.
