Robert (Bob) Piquette passed away early Dec. 2 after recurring bouts of pneumonia. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joann, their daughter Michele Mayberry, and daughters Nancy Garvik (Mitch) and Wendy Audett, plus five grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Joanne Price (Gari) of LaGrande, Ore., brother Jim (Pauline) of Las Vegas, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Puyallup May 3, 1926, lived in the state his entire life, and in Federal Way since 1962.
After graduation from Puyallup High School in 1944 he served in the Navy for two years, based in Hawaii. During his lifetime he worked as a radio disc jockey, in radio advertising sales, and 30 years in real estate before retiring. For the past 16 years, he and Joann worked as actors in commercials, print advertising, training films and movies. He was especially proud of his “elevator scene” in “Assassins” with Julianne Moore.
He has been a member of noon Kiwanis for many years, and was serving on the board of directors. He was a Lakehaven Utility District commissioner for six years. Bob was also a devotee of musical theater, symphony “pops” concerts and the Huskies football team. He was part owner of Poverty Bay Coffee Company and Cascade Valley Blends, and a morning “regular” at Poverty Bay Cafe.
A celebration of his life will run 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Intellipass building, 1925 S. 341st Place, Federal Way. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to The Federal Way Coalition of the Performing Arts, at FWCPA, P.O. Box 24753, Federal Way, WA 98093-1753.
