Alvin E. Christianson, 78, died Nov. 21.
He was a 25-year resident of Federal Way before moving to Puyallup two years ago.
He was born Nov. 10, 1927 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, Canada, and joined the U.S. Army Air Force in December 1945. While stationed at Chanute Field in Illinois, he met Vera Buckley, whom he married on March 12, 1949. They moved to Seattle in 1955.
He retired in 1990 after a 28-year career with Oak Harbor Freight Lines.
Survivors include his wife; children Angela Peters of Federal Way, Janie Kay of Burien, Dan Christianson of Newport, Ore., and Dennis Christianson of Newark, Calif.; sisters Fern Parker Dolores Siereveld and Jonina Johnson; brothers Ken Christianson and Tracy Christianson; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Melissa Peters and Tara Christianson, and three brothers —— Pall Matheson, Johann Matheson and Kristjan Matheson.
Funeral services were conducted Nov. 23 at Yahn and Son Funeral Home, followed by interment with military honors at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn.
