Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Rape: At 4:56 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 34700 block of 2nd Lane South, a woman reported she was raped by a known person’s boyfriend. She was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.
• Assault: At 10:49 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 2900 block of Southwest 314th Street, officers responded to a fight. They witnessed two suspects assaulting a victim. The suspects fled when they saw police but were found and taken into custody.
• Purse snatcher: At 4:09 p.m. Oct. 10 at 31515 20th Ave. S., a victim was shopping when a suspect grabbed her purse and fled. A witness reported seeing the suspect following herself and elderly shoppers.
• Domestic abuse: At 2:13 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 100 block of Southwest 332nd Street, a woman reported her husband punched her in the face several times and attempted to strangle her. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
• Residential assault: At 2:48 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 33000 block of Military Road South, officers were called to investigate a crime scene at which a suspect entered the victim’s residence unlawfully and assaulted the victim.
• Chase includes a weapon: At 3:24 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 28800 block of 19th Avenue South, it was reported that a suspect with a knife was chasing a victim down the street and threatening to stab the victim. A K-9 unit located the suspect.
• Burglary in progress: At 1:56 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 33200 block of 36th Avenue Southwest, police responded to a burglary in progress. They found nobody inside the home, but discovered a broken window. Witnesses gave a description of the suspect and her vehicle. The suspect was detained.
• Drug paraphernalia: At 8:33 a.m. Oct. 12 at 32124 25th Ave. S., police were called to an inn where a bent spoon and needle were found in the women’s restroom. Blood was also located on the toilet.
• Recovered vehicle: At 5:40 a.m. Oct. 12 at 35810 16th Ave. S., police located a stolen 1996 Honda. Its ignition was badly damaged.
