Woman destroys wine bottles with baseball bat inside store | Federal Way Police Blotter

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Aug. 10-16.

Aug. 10

Destroyed property: At about 10 a.m. near the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, a person was arrested after assaulting several people and attempting to destroy property. The person destroyed a police car mirror and was sent to the hospital after exhibiting signs of delirium after being cited.

Man exposing self at childcare facility: At about 4:30 p.m. near the 33500 block of 13th Place South, a man was exposing himself to children and employees at Kindercare. The ,an was involuntarily committed after showing signs he was not in the right state of mind.

Boy shot by BB gun: At about 9:15 p.m. near the 35400 block of 25th Avenue SW, a 12-year-old boy was walking near an apartment building when someone shot him with a BB gun. The boy has minor injuries. No suspect information.

Aug. 12

Employee robbed at gunpoint: At about 12:15 p.m. near the 1700 block of South Commons, a person was walking into work when approached by two armed suspects. The suspects stole the person’s property, including his car.

Jar of marijuana: At about 2:10 p.m. near the 1700 block of South 352nd Street, a man threw a marijuana glass jar at another man’s head, which caused a cut. The suspect was booked into King County Jail on unrelated warrants.

Aug. 13

Employee assaulted: At about 9:29 a.m. near the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South, an employee reported she was assaulted by a suspect at the Super Walmart. Officers located the suspect. The suspect was placed in custody and transported to SCORE Jail.

Aug. 15

Woman destroys, drinks wine bottles: At about 6:55 a.m. near the 2100 block of SW 356th Street, a woman armed with a baseball bat was breaking items inside of a store. Officers discovered she arrived at the store extremely intoxicated and began breaking wine bottles. She also opened a few cans of wine and drank from them. In total, she broke about 10 bottles of wine. Police took her into custody without incident. She was involuntarily committed to the hospital. The store’s owner is pressing charges.

School windows damaged: At about 2:30 p.m. near the 2400 block of South 300th Street, two exterior windows of Wildwood Elementary School were damaged.

Aug. 16

Person dies in car fire: At about 1 a.m. near the 29900 block of 16th Avenue South, officers responded with South King Fire and Rescue to a vehicle fire. The vehicle had one occupant who was deceased upon arrival. The King County Sheriff’s Office fire investigations are looking into the fatal incident.

Drug deal suspect arrest: At about 4:47 p.m. near the 33200 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer saw a suspect engaged in a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction in the parking lot of the Eastwind Hotel. The suspect was booked into SCORE Jail after it was confirmed the person had a felony warrant.

Fire near Dumas Bay: At about 10:23 p.m. near the 3200 block of SW Dash Point Road, fire crews responded to reports of a possible fire near the Dumas Bay Centre. The fire was determined to be the normal burning of the stacks at the treatment facility across the street, according to South King Fire officials, adding that this is a common call the department receives a few times a year.
