Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Quite a shock: At 1 p.m. May 2 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a woman reported to police that she was in her vehicle and looked to her left and saw a man holding his penis in his hand and masturbating, according to the police report. The woman got the man’s license plate and called 911. The report did not mention whether the male driver was also texting.
• Assault: At 3 a.m. May 2 in the 1000 block of South 324th Street, a person called police to report that a man was slamming the face of a woman into the interior of a vehicle. The suspect was driving while holding the victim’s hair, not allowing her to get out of the vehicle. The man was placed under arrest for assault, according to the police report.
• Long wait: At 10:30 p.m. May 3 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, five females reported to police that a suspect was masturbating while they were waiting for the bus.
• Stolen tires: At 8:39 a.m. May 3 in the 200 block of SW 319th Lane, a woman called police to report that somebody stole four tires from her vehicle while it was parked in an apartment parking lot.
• Grow operation: At 8:50 a.m. May 4 in the 28000 block of South 299th Place, an anonymous complaint was made that marijuana was being grown in a bedroom of a residence. Police contacted the suspect and approximately 10 starter plants were observed, according to the police report. The suspect agreed to pull out the plants and give them to officers, who destroyed the plants.
• Fighting: At 1:57 p.m. May 4 at Todd Beamer High School, police were called after two males got into a fight in a bathroom. One boy denied being in a fight and that he injured himself after falling. The other boy said that the fight was started because the other boy thinks he stole his cell phone last year, according to the police report. No charges were filed.
• Fondling: At 8:25 a.m. May 3 in the 2800 block of Southwest 320th Street, a witness contacted police to tell them that a male suspect gave a girl a ride to his house with several other students after school. While at his house, the suspect allegedly forced the female victim to masturbate him and refused to let her leave the room.
• Harassment by a student’s father: At 5:33 p.m. May 5 at Lake Grove Elementary, a teacher reported several incidents of what she felt was sexual harassment by a student’s father. The complaints consisted of excessive compliments about her appearance, lingering looks, prolonged handshaking and kissing her hand, according to the police report. The woman also reported the incidents to her labor union and to school administrators.
• Smoking buddies: At 12:56 p.m. May 5 in the 3100 block of Pacific Highway South, a man reported that he met two strangers in the Wal-Mart smoking area. The men asked him for marijuana and the victim denied having any, according to the police report. The two suspects then followed the victim and robbed him of his backpack.
