Unfamiliarity with car ends in arrest: At 1:30 a.m. on May 14 in the 34000 block of Enchanted Parkway S., an officer was called to an “SOS” alarm from a rented vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer found the car renter sitting in the car, unable to turn the car’s alarm off. The renter was on the phone with customer service in an attempt to resolve the issue. The officer ran the man’s information and discovered he had an outstanding warrant, resulting in the man’s arrest.
Texting while driving results in arrest: At 2:17 a.m. on May 12 in the 2100 block of SW 336th St., an officer stopped a woman for texting and driving. A records check revealed she was also driving on a suspended license, resulting in her arrest.
Fence damaged at park: At 10 a.m. on May 12 in the 2600 block of S. 312th St., a parks supervisor reported that unknown suspects knocked down a 6-foot-tall, 50-foot-long fence by unknown means. The report notes the estimated damage was approximately $2,000.
Gas tank stolen from riding mower: At 6:47 p.m. on May 12 in the 100 block of SW 365th St., a man reported that unknown suspects stole a gas tank from his riding lawnmower. The man was upset because the mower belonged to a deceased relative at one point, and had great sentimental value.
Woman assaults boyfriend’s lover: At 7:37 p.m. on May 11 in the 2400 block of SW 336th St., a woman reported that another woman came to her workplace and assaulted her. The suspect slapped the victim across the face and the victim indicated she and her attacker have an ongoing feud because they date the same man. The victim said both women recently had a heated exchange on Facebook.
