Feb. 16
Burglary suspect arrested: At about 7 a.m. near the 30600 block of 1st Place SW, Federal Way officers assisted Auburn Police in arresting a burglary suspect. The suspect fled to evade arrest and officers used force to detain the suspect. The suspect was booked into SCORE Jail for violating a domestic violence no-contact order with the victim.
Student with fireworks: At about 1:30 p.m. near the 2800 block of SW 320th Street, a school resource officer found a student was in possession of a large number of fireworks. The fireworks were confiscated and disposed of. The high school is handling discipline.
Altercation at CVS: At about 4:35 p.m. near the 33500 block of 21st Avenue South, an unknown man ran into the CVS Pharmacy while being chased by two male suspects. Inside the building, the man was beat up by the two suspects and hit with a firearm. As the suspects ran out, they dropped bullets. The man was transported to a hospital with a severe laceration to the back of his head. The victim refused to cooperate with police for the investigation.
Feb. 17
Home break-in: At about 10:13 a.m. near the 31000 block of 50th Place SW, three unknown men broke into a woman’s home while she was upstairs. The men were last seen running north on 50ttth Place SW. There was no property taken from the woman’s home. The suspects have not been identified.
Pointed gun: At about 9:26 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Highway South and S. 320th Street, a man was driving home when he stopped at the intersection. A man in a vehicle next to him pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.
Feb. 18
Post Office solicitor: At about 9:51 a.m. near the 32800 block of Pacific Highway South, U.S. Post Office employees reported an aggressive repeat solicitor. The man was seen running from the area as police arrived. The man was contacted nearby without incident and police found he had an outstanding warrant for indecent exposure. He was booked into SCORE Jail.
Shooting in the woods: At about 5:15 p.m. near the 36600 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect was shooting in a wooded area of Federal Way. Officers detained the suspect and found two firearms with altered serial numbers.
Feb. 19
Woman attacked: At about 12:28 a.m. near the 32200 block of 12th Place SW, a woman reported her boyfriend of four years attacked and strangled her. She was transported to the hospital for her injuries. The incident is under investigation.
Woman assaulted with 2×4: At about 2:26 a.m. near the 33300 block of 22nd Lane, a woman was walking outside her apartment and got into a physical altercation with a male neighbor. The neighbor picked up a 2×4 piece of wood and hit the woman multiple times. The neighbor fled into his unit after the assault.
Grocery store theft: At about 11 a.m. near the 32900 block of Pacific Highway South, a couple entered the Grocery Outlet store and stole merchandise. When the manager confronted the woman, she said she had mace, that her stepfather would murder the manager and that she had a gun while gesturing to her waistband. The manager said he did not believe she had a gun. The woman left the location with the unpaid merchandise.
Feb. 20
Robbery: At about 11:18 a.m. near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South, an unknown suspect robbed the Battery Plus Bulbs location. The unknown suspect handed a note to an employee which implied he had a firearm. The suspect made threats about the employee cooperating and stole $170 prior to fleeing. The suspect was not located.
Feb. 21
Business door broken: At about 8:31 a.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, an unknown suspect threw a large rock through the front door of a business overnight and shattered the glass. No suspect information.
Shoplifter pulls knife: At about 7:39 p.m. near the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a victim tried to stop a shoplifter and the shoplifter pulled a knife out of his pocket and pointed it at the victim. The suspect left in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
