Witness rakes up human jawbone in Federal Way | Crime blotter

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at 31519 10th Ave. S., a witness reported finding a possible human partial jawbone with teeth on it while raking the yard. The bone was decayed in color. Police delivered the bone to the medical examiner’s office for examination.

• At 7:33 Sept. 10 at 31910 Gateway Center Blvd. S., a second-degree rape was reported.

• At 8:06 a.m. Sept. 10 in the 33200 block of 26th Place Southwest, two individuals got in a verbal argument over one participant’s communication on MySpace.com.

• At 8:08 a.m. Sept. 10 in the 1300 block of Southwest Campus Drive, police were dispatched to a location where a victim received a threatening two-page letter from an unknown suspect. The author of the letter threatened to kill the recipient and his family. A person involved in a Mercer Island traffic collision with the victim is a possible suspect.

• At 5:59 p.m. Sept. 10 at 1801 S. 320th St., police responded to a verbal argument between a customer and manager at a food establishment. The argument stemmed from a bill for services. The customer left the premises when police arrived.

• At 11:23 p.m. Sept. 10 in the 31500 block of 1st Avenue South, a female called police and reported she had been assaulted by a known male. When police located the individuals, the woman admitted she lied about being assaulted in order to get the male in trouble. Police cautioned her about making a false statement.

• At 1:26 a.m. Sept. 9 at 27202 Pacific Highway S., police responded to a complaint of a man damaging businesses’ windows with a garbage can. Police found the man across the street, where he broke a window of another business.

• At 3:20 p.m. Sept. 8 in the 37200 block of 1st Avenue Southwest, a victim reported that two males drove up to the residence in a truck, then jumped out and stole gardening tools from the side of the house. They fled the scene.

• At 12:55 a.m. Sept. 7 in the 5000 block of Southwest 325th Place, police responded to St. Francis Hospital to investigate a domestic violence dispute that occurred at the listed residence. The victim told police he or she was assaulted and strangled by his or her husband. The incident took place in front of a 3-year-old child.

• At 6:05 a.m. Sept. 7 at 29800 21st Ave. S., a victim reported being robbed by several Hispanic males carrying a firearm.

• At 2:58 a.m. Sept. 7 at 35600 Pacific Highway S., a suspect driving eastbound on South 356th Street crashed into a wood power pole after speeding through a red light. A victim of the crash suffered injuries to the back, ankles and head. The suspect suffered injuries to the legs. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

• At 8:13 a.m. Sept. 7 at 37110 5th Ave. S.W., a key box was pried and stolen from the front door of a home for sale.
