Given the fast spread of COVID-19, Goodwill stores throughout Western Washington will close from March 19 through April 2.

The organization will continue accepting donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday at most of their store locations, with the exception of Graham, Tacoma Outlet and the Blue Boutiques, according to a company statement.

Goodwill’s online stores will continue to operate, selling many unique treasures on eBay, ShopGoodwill and Amazon.

During the closure, Goodwill will continue to pay their retail employees. The company’s job training staff will also continue to provide support services and case management to students via phone and web-based conferencing.

In addition, Goodwill’s Work Opportunity Centers in Tacoma, Longview and Union Gap will remain closed through April 24 per Gov. Jay Inslee’s mandate to close all schools in the state of Washington. During this time, their job training staff continues to engage with students via electronic communications. All of the company’s employees at their Work Opportunity Centers are working remotely at least through April 2.

According to the company’s statement, all Goodwill employees who continue working are taking necessary steps to help prevent the spread of illness, per CDC guidelines, like frequently washing and sanitizing our hands, counters and public areas, social distancing and staying home when ill.
