West Hylebos Wetlands Park boardwalk reopens

The West Hylebos Wetlands Park in Federal Way reopened last week after being closed for six months due to construction on the boardwalk.

The old boardwalk was badly deteriorated. The new $1.4 million boardwalk, built of composite wood and recycled plastic lumber, is more eco-friendly and stretches for nearly a mile. The park is currently open for visitors and an official grand opening ceremony is set for May 3. The park’s entrance is by the Barker Cabin on 348th Street between Pacific Highway and 1st Avenue South.
