A 32-year-old man could face DUI charges after colliding with a vehicle and gas pump Monday.
At approximately 1:50 a.m., the King County Sheriff’s Office arrested the man at the Arco gas station at the intersection of South 272nd Street and Pacific Highway South.
According to Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock, through an investigation, police believe the vehicle the man was driving was speeding east on South 272nd when he lost control and drove through a fence, into the AM/PM parking lot and rolled over before striking another vehicle and a gas pump.
Firefighters with South King Fire and Rescue and Kent Fire District responded and extricated the driver, who showed signs of intoxication, Schrock said. Medics transported the suspect to St. Francis Hospital for an evaluation. Police obtained a DUI blood warrant to determine his blood alcohol content. Police forwarded the case to the Federal Way prosecutor’s office and expect the man to be charged with driving under the influence.
