Mirror staff reports:
Waste Management is working to reinstate normal garbage service after a strike was settled this week.
A special Saturday collection will occur Aug. 4 for all Federal Way households normally serviced on Wednesdays. According to the city, Waste Management hopes to catch up on all commercial customers this weekend, and all residential customers by Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Residents are advised to place garbage, recycling and food/yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m. for collection. Customers whose garbage is collected on Monday or Tuesday will have double the amount of garbage and yard waste collected next week on their regularly scheduled days at no charge.
Thursday and Friday residential customers are having double garbage and yard waste collected this week to make up for the previous week.
Recycling collections will stay on a schedule of every other week.
