On Aug. 16, members of the PAWS (People Helping Animals) team spruced up the King County Sheriff’s Office substation, 4950 S. 298th St., in the Lake Dolloff neighborhood east of Federal Way.
King County Sheriff Steve Strachan and King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer were on hand to thank the volunteers for their hard work at a rededication ceremony Aug. 16 for this volunteer-driven project. Capt. Greg Thomas, the officer in charge of the Lake Dolloff substation, said volunteers like the members of PAWS are a positive for the community.
“The citizens of this area have been so supportive of the sheriff’s office that they wanted to show their support by having the local ‘Cop Shop’ looking as good as possible,” Thomas said. “We are very fortunate to have such wonderful people on our side who care about their community.”
