The City of Federal Way is currently recruiting applicants for three commissions.
The Diversity Commission needs two voting positions and one alternate position. Applications are due June 1. The commission advises the Federal Way City Council and staff on policy matters to ensure members of the community are part of city decisions.
The Historic Landmarks Commission needs one position. Applications are due June 1. The commission reviews local historic landmark applications submitted to the city.
The Independent Salary Commission needs one voting position and two alternate positions, which will remain open until filled. The commission studies the relationship of salaries to the duties of the mayor and city council, and is responsible for establishing a salary by increasing, decreasing, or maintaining the current salary for each position.
