Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Possible prostitution: At 2:04 a.m. July 4 at 33002 Pacific Highway S., police were dispatched to a possible prostitution act at a motel. The caller said several males came and went from a motel room over a three-hour period. Police investigated the call and found two juvenile females, one adult female and two adult males in the room. They were unable to explain what they were doing at the motel. The juveniles were removed from the situation.
• Strongarm robbery: At 4:55 a.m. July 4 in the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South, a victim reported he was robbed at gunpoint. The victim left a bar at which time a male suspect holding a firearm jumped from a vehicle and demanded the victim’s money. The suspect stole $700 from the victim.
• Nude photos: At 7:08 p.m. July 5 in the 31800 block of 10th Place Southwest, a mother complained her 12-year-old daughter was sending nude photos of herself to a 12-year-old male.
• Eat and dash: At an unknown time July 5 at 32015 23rd Ave. S., two unknown females consumed $28.27 worth of food items and fled a restaurant without paying the bill.
• Hankering for seafood: At 11:33 a.m. July 5 at 33702 21st Ave. S.W., a suspect requested 17.69 pounds of fresh seafood from a grocer. The suspect placed the merchandise in a cart and later bagged it into empty shopping bags. He then attempted to leave the store without paying for the food.
• Fireworks: At 1:49 a.m. July 5 in the 33000 block of 29th Avenue Southwest, police responded to a report of an unidentified person setting mailboxes on fire. The damage was possibly caused by fireworks placed inside the mailboxes. Nobody was injured.
• Inoperable transportation: At 12:05 p.m. July 6 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a victim reported four tires and wheels were stolen from his or her vehicle overnight.
• Minor fire: At 2:23 a.m. July 6 at Lake Grove Park, 833 S.W. 308th St., police responded to a report of a fire that was started by juveniles. A park bench suffered damage. The fire district put out the fire with water. There were no other damages.
