From the Federal Way Police Department:
At approximately 3:28 a.m. Oct. 21, Federal Way officers were dispatched to a welfare check of the clerk at the Circle K convenience store located at 33520 21st Ave SW. Customers reported that the door was open, the store was in disarray and the clerk was not located. Upon officers’ arrival, another witness reported that the clerk stated the business was closed and they saw a black male standing in the office.
An officer made contact with the clerk who told the officer they were closed for cleaning, although the clerk made physical indications that someone was in the office around the corner. The clerk moved to a location behind two officers, then fled the store. When officers entered the office, three black male suspects were located hiding in the back corner of the office. Three juvenile suspects, all age 17, were taken into custody without incident.
Preliminary investigation indicates the three arrested suspects may be responsible for similar robberies in Federal Way in recent weeks.
