April 6
Sneaky thieves: At about 4:15 a.m. near the 4700 block of SW Dash Point, suspects unlawfully entered the Retreat Center at the Palisades through an old gate. The suspects stole a battery charger for a golf cart. They also went through an unlocked vehicle and lawn mower. No entry was made into the buildings. Two knives were left behind, but no print were found.
Dead guest: At about 8 p.m. the day before near the 31700 block of Gateway Center Boulevard, dispatch was notified that a hotel tenant was possibly dead in their hotel room. Fire personnel arrived on scene and confirmed the death. Police found pills and possibly heroin inside the hotel room.
Counselor con: At about 4:07 p.m. near the 30500 block of 8th Avenue SW, a person found a marriage counselor over the internet and paid them $350. The suspect did not provide a name or a business name. When the suspect called the person again, he demanded $1,000 and the person declined. The suspect then texted a photo of the person’s family to him, found on Facebook and that he would kill the person’s family if he didn’t pay. The person was advised to block the suspect’s number.
April 7
Threats to kill: At about 1 p.m. near the 30900 block of 16th Place SW, a suspect threatened to shoot and kill a person after the person arrived to repossess the suspects vehicle. The suspect was displaying a loaded handgun while making the threats.
Stolen vehicle: At about 3:50 p.m. near the 35200 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a woman entered a Federal Way U-Haul store and when the staff were preoccupied, she stole a 2021 GMC van. The vehicle was in the return line with the keys inside.
April 8
Threats at gas station: At about 3:50 a.m. near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to reports of a threat with a weapon at a gas station. The officers established probable cause for harassment. Additional officers found and arrested the suspect.
Knife pulled: At about 2:11 p.m. near the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South, loss prevention stopped a shoplifter from leaving the Super Walmart store when the suspect pulled a knife on the employee. Police located the suspect near the parking lot and he was arrested.
Road rage: At about 10:33 p.m. near the 28800 block of Pacific Highway South, a road rage dispute over garbage thrown from a vehicle window escalated when the littering driver brandished a firearm and chased the other vehicle for over a mile.
April 10
Knife threat: At about noon near the 1700 block of South 352nd Street, an unknown suspect threatened an employee with a knife during an attempted robbery. The suspect also assaulted the employee.
Church lot targeted: At about 12:50 p.m. near the 33600 block of 20th Avenue South, two people returned to the parking lot after church and found their vehicles had been vandalized. An unknown suspect smashed the cars’ windows. For one man, his pistol was stolen and another woman reported her business documents were stolen.
April 11
Construction tool theft: At about 6:08 a.m. near the 31600 block of 1st Avenue South, employees of a construction site came to work and found that sometime over the weekend, a construction trailer had been broken into and approximately $5,000 worth of tools and radios were stolen.
April 12
Thrown vases: At about 2:17 a.m. near the 33200 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman became irate with a hotel employee. The woman began to throw flower vases in the lobby, then threw a vase which hit the employee in the face. She attempted to leave on foot when police arrived. The woman then tried to hit an officer. She was arrested and booked into jail for assault.
