An SUV crashed into the back of a semi truck around noon on Thursday, causing two lane blockages in the 3200 block of 320th St.
According to Jeff Bellinghausen, community affairs officer for South King Fire and Rescue, the driver of the semi was unharmed in the accident.
However, the driver of the SUV sustained a fractured arm and possible breaks to his pelvis.
While the SUV driver was uncooperative with SKFR, Bellinghausen said they have reason to believe he may have been texting or otherwise distracted when the crash occurred.
Bellinghausen said that witness statements claimed the trailer of the semi truck lifted off the ground before crashing back down after the impact, but these reports have not been confirmed.
The SUV driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries.
More information will be released when it becomes available.
