DUI: After crashing into a traffic light around 11:30 a.m., a driver was arrested for driving under the influence near the 34400 block of 21st Avenue Southwest
Coloring books stolen: A car was broken into around 4:50 p.m. near the 31900 block of 6th Avenue South. A bag containing several coloring books was stolen.
Two-car collision: At approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a two-car collision with serious injuries near the intersection of Pacific Highway South and Dash Point Road. Both drivers were transported to the hospital and both vehicles were towed.
Attempted burglary with vehicle: Suspects rammed the roll-up doors of a towing company with a pickup truck at approximately 5 a.m. near the 33900 block of Pacific Highway South. A witness saw the incident and told them to leave.
Jan. 11
There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Reckless burning: Police arrested an individual for starting a small fire around 3:30 a.m. near the 2300 block of South 320th Street.
Pepper sprayed: A victim reported being pepper sprayed at around 7 p.m. after she had accidentally gotten water on the suspect’s pants while pouring out a water bottle. The pepper spray incident occurred inside a store located near the 31400 block of Pacific Highway South that both individuals entered after the water incident.
Theft from vehicle: At around 9:55 p.m., a victim contacted officers to inform them that she had seen two unknown subjects inside her vehicle, then saw them flee the scene in a vehicle parked nearby. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet. The incident occurred in the Commons Mall parking lot.
Jan. 12
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.
Nonresidential burglary: At approximately 3:25 a.m. officers responded to a commercial alarm at a business located near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South. Officers saw signs of forced entry on the front door and reviewed CCTV that showed two individuals taking a PlayStation 5, then fleeing in a vehicle.
Assault: A suspect and her boyfriend assaulted two victims in front of their residence around 12:50 a.m. The residence is located near the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive.
Security scam: An individual contacted the police to report an individual who stated he was at her house to upgrade her security system. When she spoke to the security company, they said they did not send anyone to her house. When the individual returned the next day, she questioned him, and he left quickly before police could arrive.
Car stolen after being left running: A victim left a vehicle running around 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a bank located near 35100 Enchanted Parkway South. A suspect then left the bank and stole the unlocked vehicle, dumping the victim’s belongings in a nearby parking lot.
Keys stolen: Two suspects took a coffee shop employee’s keys off the table around 4:50 p.m. while the employee was distracted. When the employee chased after the suspects, she was punched and pushed to the ground. The suspects then threw the keys back at her and fled on foot.
Jan. 13
There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Residential arson: A resident at an apartment called 911 to report a fire on his balcony at around 1:40 a.m. near the 1200 block of Southwest Campus Drive. The victim’s glass window was also shattered. All occupants in the apartment building were evacuated and no one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.
Parking lot DUI: A vehicle collided with a sign in a grocery store parking lot around 4:40 a.m. The vehicle had significant damage and the air bag was deployed, but the individual had no visible injuries when evaluated. After admitting to having been drinking, the individual was arrested for DUI.
Suspicious loitering at school: At approximately 9:30 a.m., a man in a vehicle was seen loitering in a school parking lot during an event near the 33400 block of 19th Avenue Southwest. The registered owner of the vehicle has a history of arrests for indecent exposure, and in an unconfirmed report, was referred to by the reporting party as the same man exposing himself on December 16.

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Attempted insurance scam: An individual falsely reported a hit and run collision in order to get her vehicle fixed by her insurance company. Safe City cameras showed that there was no collision and the individual admitted to lying when questioned.
Child overdose on fentanyl: Officers responded to a report of an overdose by a child the day before. The child is still alive. Police took custody of the child and they were handed over to Child Protective Services.
Jan. 15
There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Nonresidential burglary: At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a commercial burglary report. Investigation revealed that a suspect used a pry bar to break into a commercial building near the 1200 block of South 343rd Street and steal a large amount of cash, vehicle keys and a safe.
Vehicle fire: A burning vehicle was reported around 6 a.m. in a parking lot near the 34200 block of Pacific Highway South. South King Fire responded to put out the fire and the vehicle was determined to be stolen.
Handgun found: A gun was found in a parking lot near the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South. A holster was found as well, but the gun itself had no magazine or ammo. Attempts to contact the registered owner were unsuccessful.
Jan. 16
There were at least 7 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Weapons offense: At approximately 3 p.m., an officer responded to a report of threats with a weapon near the 33700 block of 21st Avenue Southwest. The suspect was gone on arrival and the officer was unable to locate them, but did acquire a photo.
Harassment: Sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., a victim’s car was damaged. The driver side tires were flat from what appeared to be a nail, paint was scratched, the hood was dented and black paint was poured onto it. The reporting party believes that it was done by her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend who she says was seen running away from the scene a few blocks away.
Residential burglary: At approximately 6 a.m. a residential burglary was reported at a residence located near the 31400 block of 23rd Avenue South. The burglar entered through an open window in the unit.
