Suspect with machete chases man | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Oct. 5-10.

Oct. 5

Home burglarized: At about 11:43 a.m. near the 29000 block of 22nd Avenue South, a residence was burglarized sometime over the prior three days. It appears entry was forced through the front door.

Rear-ended on the road: At about 3:50 a.m. near the 35600 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a car drove through a puddle of brake fluid and tried to stop at a red light when the brakes started grinding. The driver put the car in park and was rear-ended by a black truck. The truck sped away and was not located.

Oct. 6

Recent robbery: At about 1:53 a.m. near the 2500 block of South 317th Street, officers responded to a recent robbery. Officers met with two people in their apartment and established probable cause to arrest a suspect from first-degree robbery. The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival. A K9 track was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

Stolen cigarettes: At about 1:50 a.m. near the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South, unknown subjects threw a rock through the front door of a business and stole cigarettes before leaving the area in a white vehicle.

Knife in classroom: At about 8:24 .m. near the 2800 block of SW 320th Street, a school resource officers found a 6-inch filet knife in a sheath on the floor of a classroom. The knife was confiscated and booked into evidence.

Shoplifter stopped: At about 2:26 p.m. near the 1800 block of South Commons, a man was arrested and booked after shoplifting at the Dick’s Sporting Goods store. The suspect stole approximately $240 of merchandise and fled police on a foot chase. The suspect was captured in the woods near Celebration Park. He has a history of shoplifting at the mall, according to police.

Oct. 7

Gun under bed: At about 2:07 p,.m. near the 2400 block of South 273rd place, a family member brought in a handgun that was found under a child’s bed. The handgun was real and checked into evidence for safe keeping.

Police-involved collision: At about 6:48 p.m. near the 34800 block of 1st Avenue South, a Federal Way officer was involved in a two-vehicle collision while responding to an in-progress felony crime. Washington State Patrol responded to the scene to investigate.

Oct. 9

DUI driver: At about 10 p.m. near the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, a driver hit a parked car and was arrested then booked into SCORE Jail for suspicions of Driving Under the Influence.

Oct. 10

Motorcycle stolen: At about 5:30 a.m. near the 1300 block of South 295th Place, a motorcycle parked on the owner’s street was stolen sometime overnight.

Student points gun: At about 7:48 a.m. near the 1300 block of South 308th Street, a parent called to report that sometime last night a student pointed a gun at their son during a football game.

Machete threats: At about 1:15 p.m. near the 28400 block of Old Military Road South, a suspect threatened a person with a machete before chasing him with the machete. About an hour before that, the same suspect assaulted another person by hitting him with a 2×4. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

Resident shoots squirrel: At about 8:38 p.m. near the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, an injured squirrel was suffering so a resident, under the direction of an apartment complex maintenance employee, shot the squirrel. The resident was asked by police to please contact Federal Way Animal Services to care for any and all wounded animals in the future.

Dog bites woman: At about 5 p.m. near the 33400 block of 26th Place SW, a person was walking her dog when she passed a boy walking with two leashed dogs. One of the leashed dogs escaped from the boy and bit the woman on her leg, causing her to fall. She sustained numerous lacerations.
