Suspect ransacks apartments after fire | Federal Way Police Blotter

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Aug. 2-9.

Aug. 2

Weapon assault: At about 2:35 a.m. near the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South, police took a report for an assault with a firearm.

Armed with ax: At about 3:30 a.m. near the 33300 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to reports of a suspicious suspect armed with an ax. An employee discovered damage to their vehicle which was possibly caused by the suspect.

Aug. 3

Apartments ransacked: Sometime overnight near the 2100 block of SW 352nd Street, an unknown suspect broke into a burned apartment building that was boarded up, fenced off and had security. The suspect went to each apartment and ransacked the units. A former resident went to her apartment with management and discovered the apartment had been ransacked. At least three additional residents also reported items in their units had been stolen. No suspect information.

Aug. 4

Stole guitar: At about 2 p.m. near the 900 block of South 293rd Street, an unknown suspect unlawfully entered a residence which was hosting an estate sale. The suspect stole a Gibson guitar and fled on foot through a neighbor’s backyard. Suspect was not located.

Shoplifted cited: At about 7:02 p.m. near the 2100 block of South Commons, a person exited the Kohl’s store with approximately $700 worth of merchandise. The person was taken into custody, issued a citation and released. All merchandise was recovered.

Aug. 6

Woman’s hand shot: At about 4:08 a.m. near the 3000 block of South 288th Street, officers responded to reports of a physical domestic dispute. On scene, a woman said her ex-boyfriend shot her hand while they were inside her car, struggling over her purse containing a handgun. The suspect was located nearby and arrested,

Elderly woman robbed: At about 11:42 a.m. near the 1900 block of SW 352nd Street, two people entered a home and stole from an elderly woman who was home alone. There is no suspect information.

Aug. 7

Dog left inside car: At about 2:30 p.m. near the 36200 block of Enchanted Parkway South, officers responded to an unattended dog left inside a vehicle during hot weather.

Armed robbery: At about 3:40 p.m. near the 1900 block of SW Campus drive, officers responded to a recent robbery with a firearm. Two victims were located. The suspects were gone on arrival and not located.

Intoxicated person at water park: At about 5:09 p.m. near the 36200 block of Enchanted Parkway South, officers responded to an intoxicated person at Wild Waves Theme & Water Park.

Aug. 8

Gunshots fired into air: At about 8:13 a.m. near the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, officers heard several gunshots. A person called from a nearby apartment complex to report that a man was shooting a gun in the air. The suspect was not initially located. An hour later, another person called to report the suspect was again shooting into the air. The suspect was located in a nearby apartment and arrested. A search warrant was served and several guns were taken into evidence.

Aug. 9

Woman assaulted: At about 3:49 a.m. near the 1600 block of SW 309th Street, a person called police to report she was assaulted by a known friend and that a gun had been pointed to her chest.

Person confronted by masked suspect: At about 11:30 a.m. near the 1400 block of South 320th Street, a person was confronted and threatened by a suspect wearing a black ski mask after looking at the suspect. The suspect exited a car, approached the person and punched him in the face. The suspect then showed the person he had a pistol in his front waistband. The suspect fled in a vehicle. No suspect identification.
