Mirror staff reports:
A suspect in a 2010 fatal shooting in Federal Way was arrested at the U.S-Mexico border.
Edgar Daniel Sanchez, 24, turned himself in on March 14 at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, according to a report in the Seattle Times.
Sanchez is a U.S. citizen who had an active fugitive warrant. He was booked into the San Diego County Jail and awaits extradition, according to the Times. Two Federal Way detectives traveled to San Diego to interview Sanchez, who is also known as “Sharky.”
On Jan. 17, 2010, Federal Way police found two gunshot victims at a residence in the 30800 block of 20th Avenue South. One victim, Irving Plascencia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was transported to Harborview Medical Center and survived.
Witnesses reported that a fight broke out in the front yard after a late-night house party, and shots were fired. Sanchez was identified as the shooter by several witnesses. He had fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
