Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Harassment: At 2:13 p.m. Feb. 23 at 33325 8th Ave. S., it was reported that a suspect sent harassing e-mails and a package to the city’s deputy mayor, Dini Duclos. The suspect is believed to have mental health issues and is angry with a housing decision made by the Multi-Service Center.
• DUI: At 3:22 a.m. Feb. 20 in the 30800 block of Pacific Highway South, police stopped a motorist for driving with no headlights. The driver was intoxicated and had a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded.
• Root beer: At 6:50 p.m. Feb. 21 in the 34600 block of 1st Avenue South, a suspect poured root beer into a victim’s gas tank.
• Assault: At 2:01 a.m. Feb. 21 in the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road, officers responded to a location where earlier, a suspect strangled and assaulted a victim in front of several children.
• Large fight: At 2:00 a.m. Feb. 21 at 30333 Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to a fight involving 50 subjects. When police arrived, they saw a group of about 200 individuals. Witnesses reported one suspect had a gun. The person fled the scene.
• Assault of a family member: At 10:32 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 30200 block of 6th Avenue Southwest, a suspect physically assaulted his or her nephew by punching him in the face and striking him in the body with a broom handle. The suspect then held a kitchen knife to the victim’s throat and threatened to kill him.
• Forced entry: At 3:32 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 100 block of Southwest 294th Street, a victim’s storage shed was forcibly entered and items of value were taken.
• Home burglary: At 8:41 p.m. Feb. 23 in the 32000 block of 4th Avenue Southwest, a victim returned home to find his or her home broken into. Two televisions, a gaming console and jewelry were stolen.
• Stolen prescription pad: At 3:32 p.m. Feb. 23 at 1901 S. Commons, a suspect was arrested in his or her vehicle after stealing Macy’s merchandise. Police found a fraudulent prescription pad inside the vehicle. The suspect admitted that an employee at a physician’s office stole the pad and gave it to the suspect.
• Fire extinguisher theft: At 9:24 p.m. Feb. 24 at 1300 S.W. Campus Drive, witnesses reported seeing suspects pulling fire extinguishers from an apartment complex building. Police found five missing extinguishers and two empty ones.
