Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Suspicious person on school grounds: At 5:54 p.m. Feb. 19 at Twin Lakes Elementary, a suspect was arrested after he was found trespassing on school property. An investigation revealed complaints of the suspect loitering on other school grounds and communicating with juvenile females.
• Stolen coin boxes: At 4:37 p.m. Feb. 10 in the 28600 block of Military Road South, a complainant reported that metal coin boxes attached to three laundry room dryers were burned off the machines and stolen.
• Missing carts: At 10:20 a.m. Feb. 11 at 33702 21st Ave. S.W., it was reported that approximately 40 shopping carts that were awaiting repair were stolen from the back of the store. The carts are valued at $3,000.
• ID theft: At 4:28 p.m. Feb. 19 in the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road, a victim went to file his or her taxes and discovered his or her identity was stolen. The thief took $4,832 in tax returns.
• Drink and dash: At 5:54 p.m. Feb. 19 at 28845 Military Road South, three suspects opened a tab and drank liquor at an establishment before leaving the place. The credit card was later found to be connected to an account with no funds in it.
• Liquor theft: At 12:45 p.m. Feb. 19 at 2311 S.W. 336th St., an employee reported a suspect stole a bottle of liquor priced at $32.95. Video showed the suspect exit the store with the liquor and leave in a Jaguar.
• Broken crosswalk: At 7:19 a.m. Feb. 19 at 27202 Pacific Highway South, a complainant reported that the crosswalk at South 272nd Street was damaged. The push button was missing and the spring under the button was exposed.
