Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Pornographic project: At 3:59 p.m. May 25 at 1928 S. Commons, two suspects were detained for showing pornographic images to people inside the mall. The subjects said it was part of a class assignment on deviance and they were trying to catch people’s shocked reactions from seeing something out of the ordinary.
• Overdose: At 10:03 a.m. May 24 in the 1900 block of Southwest 318th Place, a woman was found deceased in her bed. It appears she died from an accidental overdose on prescription medications.
• Domestic violence: At 5:04 p.m. May 24 in the 27800 block of Pacific Highway South, a husband and wife got into an argument over their relationship. The husband allegedly choked the wife in front of a child.
• Unregistered sex offender: At 11:18 a.m. May 25 in the 28900 block of 28th Place South, police attempted to confirm a sex offender’s address. It was found that the offender had moved a few weeks prior and failed to register his or her new address.
• Assault with a sword: At 2:42 a.m. May 27 in the 35400 block of 25th Avenue Southwest, police were called to the scene of an assault with a gun. The found no gun but reported a small group of males carrying a sword.
• Thief wants watches: At 3:46 p.m. May 28 at 1901 S. Commons, a suspect grabbed a watch display case at Macy’s and walked out of the store with the case and the watches located inside it.
• Domestic violence assault: At 8:48 a.m. May 28 in the 3000 block of South 288th Street, police responded to a physical domestic violence call. A male reportedly hit a female with a belt.
• DUI: At 3:22 a.m. May 30 in the 100 block of Southwest 308th Street, police were called to a scene where they found a vehicle parked on the sidewalk. The driver was unresponsive and was arrested for DUI.
• Dog bite: At 9:46 p.m. May 31 in the 31200 block of 9th Avenue South, police responded to St. Francis hospital where they contacted a victim who had been playing in the street when he or she was bitten by a neighbor’s dog. The victim was being treated for puncture wounds to the arm and buttocks.
• Concerned parent: At 8:27 p.m. May 31 in the 30000 block of 8th Avenue Southwest, a man contacted police to report his 13-year-old daughter was contacting a 26-year-old male via cell phone. The male may have been located out of state.
• Suspicious circumstance: At 12:55 a.m. May 31 in the 1400 block of South 336th Street, police saw a male arguing with a female on the side of the road. The man said the woman was lying in the street. The woman admitted she had a mental problem and was trying to get a vehicle to run her over.
