Tall tales are encouraged for the PowellsWood Garden fifth annual Storytelling Festival, to be held July 22-23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On day one, storytellers will take small groups of adults to workshops on storytelling that are designed to foster new ways of communication. Daycare and children’s groups will be provided, with advance registration required for all programs and workshops.

The second day will be devoted to storytelling, with five tellers scheduled to speak at spots throughout the 3-acre garden.

Day one workshop tickets start at $55, and day two passes start at $5 for kids and go up to $20 for adults. Family packages, full-festival passes and “Tea with the Tellers” tickets are available.
