Reach Out Federal Way hosted its annual breakfast fundraiser, titled “Pay it Forward,” on Sept. 24 at Christian Faith Center.
The event was emceed by Kiro News anchor and former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Steve Raible.
Proceeds will benefit the charity’s homeless shelter program at local churches including Calvary Lutheran Church, Steel Lake Presbyterian Church and Our Savior Baptist Church. Reach Out connects homeless men and women with food, shelter, dental care and more.
Last year, Reach Out served 110 men and women in South King County throughout the harsh winter months. The average life expectancy of a homeless person is 48 years, according to the charity. Nearly 83 percent of the women served by Reach Out are victims of domestic violence.
Reach Out also hosts a Rollermania fundraiser in the spring. Learn more at reachoutfederalway.org or call (253) 973-1962.
