Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Missing on spring break: At 5:48 a.m. March 23 in the 900 block of SW 347th Street, a mother reported her son missing. He went to Mexico on spring break and was expected home the day prior. The mother said she had not heard from her son since he left for Mexico and he is not answering his cell phone, which may have been disconnected.
• Vehicle prowl: At 10:03 p.m. March 24 in the 300 block of Southwest 292nd Street, a vehicle was broken into overnight. Approximately $2,880 worth of goods were stolen from inside the vehicle.
• Driver witnesses abuse: At 3:22 p.m. March 25 in the 33100 block of 42nd Place Southwest, a complainant called police to report he or she witnessed a driver striking a female passenger with a closed fist. Police located the suspect and victim at a residence. The female said the fight was with her father and it was verbal only.
• Masked man: At 3:59 a.m. March 25 at 104 S.W. 312th St., a suspect entered a store wearing a mask. The suspect had possession of what appeared to be a flashlight and implied it was a weapon. The suspect stole cigarettes and left.
• False prescription: At 12:23 a.m. March 25 at 34515 9th Ave. S., police responded to St. Francis Hospital where a woman was trying to get a forged prescription filled. The suspect was contacted by police. She stated she added a fake item to a legitimate prescription given to her earlier.
• Theft: At 5:59 p.m. March 25 in the 2200 block of Star Lake Road, a mentally handicapped individual reported that a known person stole a television and $10 from him. The victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect, but said she is someone he allows in his home. The victim was told to call police next time the suspect returns.
• Threats: At 12:38 p.m. March 27 in the 4900 block of Southwest 319th Lane, a suspect threatened to kill a victim. The victim was scared for herself, kids and roommate. The suspect has a domestic violence history.
• Custody debate: At 9:22 p.m. March 27 in the 29400 block of 21st Place S., a complainant reported she gave temporary custody of her children to a known person in summer 2008. She has been trying to retrieve her children and gain full custody once again since September 2009, but the person in possession of her children refuses to return them.
• Hankering for Oxycontin: At 2:09 p.m. March 28 at 2131 S.W. 336th St., a suspect used a fake prescription to try to get 120 Oxycontin pills. The suspect offered to pay $1,600 cash for the items.
