Sentencing delayed for former Federal Way school board member convicted of felony theft

The sentencing of former Federal Way school board member Tony Moore, who was convicted in April on seven counts of felony theft, has been delayed again.

The sentencing of former Federal Way school board member Tony Moore, who was convicted in April on seven counts of felony theft, has been delayed again.

His initial sentencing hearing that was set for July was moved to August and now to 9 a.m. on Sept. 16.

Moore hired a new attorney immediately following his conviction on April 18, according to his previous attorney Robert Callahan. Multnomah County Judge Thomas M. Ryan allowed the rescheduling to give both parties enough time to prepare for the hearing.

Moore, 50, was convicted of scheming with a tire company employee in Portland, Ore. and stealing $150,000 worth of tires in 2011.

The judge allowed Moore to return back to Federal Way, pending his sentencing. Moore could face up to 10 years in prison.
