Late night burrito drama: At approximately 3:30 a.m., police responded to report of a physical fight at a restaurant near the 31600 block of Pacific Highway South. Upon arrival, they found that no fight had taken place, but did speak to a driver of a vehicle in the drive-through who appeared to be intoxicated enough to provide probable cause for DUI.
Warming car stolen: At approximately 6:30 a.m., a car was left warming up in the driveway of a victim’s home. Video captured a vehicle drive up and an individual get out and steal the vehicle from the driveway.
Toddler clothing grab: Sometime between midnight and 9:30 a.m., about $200 of toddler’s clothing was stolen from inside a vehicle parked near the 34700 block of 2nd Lane South. The victim reported that she found her vehicle window broken and the clothing gone.
Man loses firearm for second time: An individual called to report that he had misplaced his firearm, possibly while giving his friend a ride. The same individual lost the same firearm in December. In that instance, it was returned to the police station, where he retrieved it.
Drive-through gun threat: A customer pointed a gun at an employee at approximately 8 p.m. in a drive through, racked the slide and insisted the employee apologize for a verbal dispute that had just occurred. The employee complied with the threat by apologizing and the suspect left the business. The incident occurred near the 2300 block of South 320th Street.
Marijuana lobster: At approximately 3:30 p.m. a School Resource Officer at a high school supported an administrator in contacting a student who had received an unusual Valentine’s Day gift. The gift was a lobster that smelled heavily of marijuana. The marijuana was found by the administrator and the lobster was set free.
Feb. 15
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Residential burglary: At approximately 10 a.m., an unknown suspect broke into a residence through a rear glass door, rummaged through drawers and left with a garbage bag full of property. The victim was not home and observed the burglary via a Ring camera.
Vehicle pursuit after shooting: A drive-by shooting at approximately 1:40 p.m. led to a pursuit near the 1300 block of South 336th Street. The incident also details that a stolen vehicle was recovered and that the suspect attempted to elude police.
Group altercation: Approximately 20 male subjects were involved in a fight near the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South. No primary aggressors were determined after multiple interviews and review of video footage.
Robbery at gunpoint: An individual was robbed at gunpoint and their vehicle was stolen at approximately 7 p.m. near the 1300 block of Southwest 328th Court.
Feb. 16
There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Fire: Police responded to a fire at approximately 7 a.m. near a gas station after reports of a plume of smoke and flames coming from a nearby wooded area. The location in question is near the 1700 block of South 356th Street. South King Fire responded to extinguish the flames.
Woman threatened: A victim reported that after telling a male she was no longer interested in communicating with him via social media, he threatened to come to her workplace and teach her a lesson. His exact words were that she was “going to learn to not talk crazy.”
Knife fight: At approximately 5:30 p.m., multiple people suffered injuries including a knife wound during a large fight at an apartment complex near the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South.
Feb. 17
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Electrical room squatters: A property manager contacted officers at approximately 10 a.m. to report hearing a voice inside an electrical room at an apartment complex and fresh damage on the door. Officers checked the room, but no one was inside. They did identify evidence of subjects staying inside the room and in the electrical room on the floor above as well. Damage on the doors was consistent with entry.
Feb. 18
There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Employee assaulted: At approximately 8:40 a.m., two individuals shoplifted beer from a store located near the 1600 block of Southwest Dash Point Road. When an employee confronted them, they assaulted him, then fled on foot. The victim was treated by the fire department.
Rude note: At some point between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., a reporting party stated that a note was left on their windshield telling them that they needed to “park better.” They also noticed that their windshield wiper was damaged. The incident occurred near the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive.
Feb. 19
There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Candy machine stolen: Officers responded to a nonresidential burglary that occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. The suspect(s) entered the building through a damaged door and stole the candy machine. The business is currently shut down due to a recent fire and is located near the 31600 block of Pacific Highway South.
Carjacker arrested: At approximately 2 p.m., officers received a call from a victim to report his car had been stolen at gunpoint from his driveway. A call shortly after reported a collision and a male trying to enter other vehicles near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Southwest Dash Point Road. Officers detained the subject and after investigation booked him into King County Jail.
Feb. 20
There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.
Attempted carjacking: At approximately 2:50 a.m., a victim was in her car near the 29600 block of Pacific Highway South when two unknown subjects attempted to grab her and chased her around the car. Her boyfriend exited the car and the suspects fled in a white sedan. There were four individuals in the suspect car and they were all wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts.
Public Works Department message board stolen: Two individuals on small motorcycles stole a VMS board and left it near the BPA Trail. The vandalism was captured on multiple Safe City cameras. Batteries and the solar panel were stolen and other aspects of the sign were damaged.
