Feb. 7

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicles were recovered.

Street assault: At approximately 9:15 a.m., an unknown male approached a woman on a city sidewalk near the 32000 block of 6th Avenue Southwest. He grabbed her on the inner thigh hard enough to rip her jeans, then fled in an unknown direction.

Shoplifter stopped: A tracking device in stolen merchandise along with security footage helped officers track down a shoplifter. The merchandise was stolen from a store near the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South.

Suspicious person: A school psychologist reported that a student had been approached twice outside the school by an adult man near Saghalie, once where he asked to take her picture and once where she was offered candy. The student reported that the man had been on school property before.

Robbery: At approximately 2 p.m., a victim’s jacket was stolen at gunpoint at an apartment complex near the 33000 block of South 320th Street. The victim was sitting at a bus stop when five teenage males approached wearing ski masks, pointed pistols at him and forced him to take of his jacket. The victim declined to press charges.

Feb. 8

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Sex offense: At approximately 8 a.m., an unknown male approached two juvenile females who were walking to school. The male offered them a ride to a high school in Federal Way and they entered the car willingly. The male then asked them to expose their breasts to him. They declined and one exited the car at an unknown intersection. The other stayed in the car until she got out at her high school.

Man with axe: A man was threatening others with an axe around 2:30 p.m at the Federal Way Transit Center and was subsequently arrested and booked into jail.

Feb. 9

There was at least 1 report of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Utilities threat: After being notified that his water would be shut off due to nonpayment by Lakehaven Water and Sewer, a caller told the utility worker on the phone that he would shoot any employee who came to his property to shut off the water.

DUI arrest leads to more: Officers responded to a report of an individual slumped behind the wheel around 3 p.m. near the intersection of 312th Street and Pacific Highway South. On the scene, officers deflated tires and used a pin to trap the suspected DUI. The individual fled on foot, but was apprehended by officers, who then discovered that the vehicle was confirmed stolen and that there was a firearm inside. The individual also had a large quantity of suspected narcotics on his person and was a six time convicted felon.

Residential burglary: A homeowner reported that their home security alarm was triggered while they were out of the house and returned to find their garage door and front door open. At the home, they noticed several appliances were missing.

Feb. 10

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 6 vehicles were recovered.

Juveniles in stolen vehicle: Officers identified a stolen vehicle through the automated license plate reader around 8:45 a.m. near the 1300 block of Southwest Campus Drive. They saw two juveniles sleeping in the stolen vehicle who were then detained. A firearm was located in a backpack inside the vehicle near the two juveniles.

Manager shot: At around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at a restaurant near the 31600 block of Pacific Highway South. The victim was located and identified as the manager of the restaurant. The suspect fled on foot, possibly seen going northbound on Pacific Highway South.

Feb. 11

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Mass break-in: A total of 14 vehicles were broken into during a church service at around 10 a.m. The church is located near the 1800 block of South 308th Street and CCTV showed a vehicle connected to several other incidents in the area. Police later located the vehicle, but were unable to pursue.

Feb. 12

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Residential burglary: At approximately 10 p.m. a local resident reported that her apartment located off of South 340th Street was broken into. The victim reported that the house was accessed by the burglar by breaking through a living room window.

Feb. 13

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Armed robbery: A female victim was robbed of her car keys at gunpoint at approximately 4 p.m. near the 34200 block of 1st Place South. The suspects then fled in her vehicle.

Homicide: A man was found dead on the side of the road at approximately 1 a.m. near the 32900 block of Hoyt Road Southwest. Officers initially responded to a report of an injury collision and South King Fire attempted lifesaving measures. The man was also noted to have a single gunshot wound to the back and a single casing was located nearby.
