Restaurant employee pockets customers’ money | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Sneaky employee: At 2:46 p.m. April 16 at 1911 S. 320th St., a manager at a local restaurant reported an employee embezzled money from customers by processing their credit cards for an amount more than their purchase.

• Busted alias: At 12:28 p.m. April 17 in the 2000 block of South 327th Lane, a suspect, using an alias, reported a domestic violence assault. Police later discovered the report, against a person who owed the suspect $1,300, was unfounded and the suspect had an active warrant for her arrest.

• Glamorized thief: At 10:41 a.m. April 17 at 31849 Pacific Highway S., a victim reported a male requested his hair, beard and eyebrows colored with dye. When the procedure was finished, the patron went to his vehicle to grab his wallet. He then ran away without paying for the services.

• Stabbing: At 3:10 a.m. April 17 in the 2100 block of Southwest 336th Street, police were dispatched to the scene of an assault with a knife. The victim claimed he or she was stabbed in the hand while walking on the street. The report was inconsistent with evidence at the scene.

• Child assault: At 10:15 p.m. April 16 in the 30900 block of 16th Place Southwest, a suspect was arrested and booked for assaulting his or her 10-year-old offspring with a power cord, creating welts on the arm.

• Adult-only e-mail: At 8:50 p.m. April 16 in the 31400 block of 48th Place Southwest, police were called to the scene of a lewd act. A woman reported receiving an e-mail with pornographic materials, involving her neighbor, contained within it. The neighbor reported conducting a sexual chat with a female he or she met online. The e-mail was sent by a third party, possibly trying to extort money from the neighbor.

• Cheap thief: At 4:00 p.m. April 16 at 35020 Enchanted Parkway, a suspect entered Joe’s sports store, put on a pair of Reebok sneakers valued at $80, then left the store without paying for the merchandise. A “going out of business sale” is currently in progress at Joe’s.

• Mass garage keys stolen: At 7:34 a.m. April 15 in the 33000 block of 10th Avenue Southwest, a person reported a large number of keys for garages all located on the same property were stolen from his or her vehicle.
