Linda Kochmar, R-Federal Way, was given new committee assignments recently in preparation for the 2015 legislative session.
Kochmar will serve on three House committees: Business and Financial Services, Capital Budget and Transportation.
“I was honored by my committee assignments from House leadership and am looking forward to assuming my new role on the Capital Budget committee,” Kochmar said. “We have a lot to tackle during the upcoming session, but I’m dedicated to making the 30th District a better place for current residents and future generations. We made several great strides last year and I’m hoping to do even more for our communities in 2015.”
Kochmar has served on both the Business and Financial Services and Transportation committees, but Capital Budget is a new assignment.
While she’s never served on the committee, Kochmar did bring back significant dollars to the 30th District for various projects following the passage of the 2013-15 capital budget.
Among these were $2 million for Federal Way’s Performing Arts and Conference Center, $1 million for the King County Boys and Girls Club and $225,000 for the Triangle Park ADA upgrades in Milton.
The 2015 legislative session is scheduled to begin Jan. 12.
