Purse snatched at church | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Purse snatched at church: At 12:46 p.m. Nov. 22 in the 200 block of South 320th Street, a woman working at a church noticed another woman loitering around the church building. The worker asked if she could help the woman, then left to see if the woman’s friend was inside the church. When the victim returned, her purse was gone.

• Recovered cash: At 6:19 p.m. Nov. 22 at 1900 S. 314th St., a person found $82 in the electronics department of a store. The person turned the money over to personnel for safekeeping, but hours later, after learning of the store’s policy on found money, requested the cash be recovered and kept safe by police.

• Medical attention: At 9:49 p.m. Nov. 22 in the 2000 block of SW Dash Point Road, a person called to report a man needing medical attention. The man was hallucinating and was found in a church parking lot. He denied consuming anything other than alcohol. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital.

• Damaged property: At 7:09 p.m. Nov. 22 in the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a victim reported an unknown person kicked in her front door. No entry was made.

• Sibling rivalry: At 3:28 a.m. Nov. 22 in the 2500 block of Southwest 323rd Street, a victim and brother, who live together, were involved in a dispute over a third roommate. When the victim tried to defend the roommate, his brother punched him several times.

• Bludgeoned vehicle: At 3:27 a.m. Nov. 22 at 33310 Pacific Highway South, a victim reported his vehicle was struck in the windshield, hood and driver’s door with a blunt object. The victim was alerted to the damage when he or she heard the car alarm sounding.

• Stolen piano tools: At 9:07 a.m. Nov. 21 in the 30300 block of 10th Avenue South, a bag full of piano tuning tools was stolen from a vehicle.

• Sneaky thief: At 9:07 a.m. Nov. 21 at 35419 1st Ave. S., a complainant reported the lock on a storage shed had been cut and various lawn care items were stolen. An unknown person replaced the cut lock with a fresh lock, prior to the complainant discovering the theft.
