Prevent summertime blues with Federal Way summer day camp

Fortunately, there is still time to get registered for summer craze day camp, the best cure for summertime blues. Summer camp (preschool to 10th grade) is held every weekday from June 17t until Sept. 1 at the Federal Way Community Center.

Fireflies preschool camp runs mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for 3–5 year olds and cost is $85 per week. Kids will have a great time singing songs, playing games and making crafts all centered around fun themes.

Summer Craze/Commotion and Cubbies opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. This camp is for kindergarten through sixth-graders and cost is $170 per week (five days) or $114 per partial week (three days).

Summer camp is all about having fun with counselors and meeting new friends. The city’s camp offers swimming, rock climbing, games, crafts, songs, field trips and energetic staff.   Activities and field trips are planned around fun themes, such as “tropical paradise” wherein campers will participate in beach crafts and go to Wild Waves for their weekly field trip.

Teens are invited to Crazy Teen Camp, which opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. This camp is for seventh through 10th graders and cost is $175 per week or $45 daily. Teen activities will include fitness, gaming, two field trips (one preplanned and one teen-planned), one day off-site, active gym games, swimming, rock climbing, optional crafting and much more.
