There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Bat and katana: At 10:28 a.m. in the 32000 block of 1st Avenue South, a male and female were reported walking with a bat and a katana and possibly arguing. Contact was made with both parties, who were interviewed separately. Both parties stated that nothing physical occurred between them.
Apartment burglary: At 12:22 p.m. in the 32000 block of 20th Lane Southwest, there was a report that an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s apartment while he was at work. The suspect pried open the window to the kitchen. The suspect climbed in and went into the apartment. The suspect rummaged through some of the victim’s belongings before fleeing through the front door. The victim had numerous firearms in the apartment closet. None were taken as the victim screamed at the suspect on the Ring camera.
Abandoned dog: At 5:15 p.m. in the 34400 block of 8th Court Southwest, the reporting party stated that they found a black German Shepherd tied to a tree on the BPA Trail near the King County Aquatic Center. The reporting party was able to rescue the dog and take it back to their home where officers retrieved it. The dog was transported back to the police station and placed into one of the holding kennels with water and food.
Firearm with no serial number: At 8:14 p.m. in the 1900 block of South 314th Street, officers viewed a male shoplift from the business. The male was detained and put in handcuffs. A firearm with serial numbers was located on the male. The firearm was confiscated and booked into evidence. The male was cited for a concealed pistol license violation and released.
March 13
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Unsuccessful pursuit: At 2:52 a.m. on South Star Lake Road and Military Road South, an officer found reasonable suspicion that an occupied vehicle was stolen and initiated a pursuit. The vehicle fled, and the officer pursued the vehicle to the city limits. A pit maneuver was unsuccessful in disabling the suspect vehicle. The pursuit was terminated when it exited the city limits.
Stolen handgun: At 5:09 a.m. in the 2400 block of Birch Street Northeast, officers received a theft report. The victim said that his car had been broken into, and his .380 Sig Sauer handgun and other items were stolen.
Assault: At 4:57 p.m, in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to what initially came out as a traffic complaint. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that an assault had occurred.
Threat with a firearm: At 6:08 p.m. in the 2100 block of Southwest 352nd Street, officers responded to a report of threats with a weapon. During the investigation, probable cause was established for the arrest of the female half.
March 14
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Armed robbery: At 1:52 a.m. in the 2800 block of Military Road South, there was a report that officers responded to an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven. Investigation revealed a single male suspect produced a firearm before stealing $1,000 in cash. The suspect fled in a white Hyundai SUV prior to police arrival and was not located.
March 15
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Possible shootout: At 2:24 a.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of sounds of illegal discharges in the downtown core. Officers located several witnesses, who described having seen several subjects in vehicles firing weapons into the air and possibly at each other. Numerous cartridge casings were recovered for further processing.
Dine and dash: At 8:17 a.m. at Denny’s, there was a report that two females entered the business and ordered about $74 worth of food and left without paying.
Firearm violation: At 10:26 p.m. in the 32000 block of 47th Avenue Southwest, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in a ditch. Upon arrival, the driver was unresponsive and treated by firefighters. A firearm was observed resting under the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The vehicle was sealed and taken to the station for processing.
March 16
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Shooting: At about 4:27 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of an illegal discharge. When officers responded to the scene, they located several fired cartridge casings in the parking lot of an AM/PM Arco station. Upon review of security camera footage, three suspects shot multiple firearms at an occupied vehicle. All persons fled the scene.
Crossing the street on a dolly: At about 8:32 a.m. in the 3300 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that an officer viewed a male impeding traffic by crossing at the light on foot and then by dolly. The man was arrested for disorderly conduct and booked in SCORE jail without incident.
Illegal knife: At 8:32 a.m. in the 1700 block of South 282nd Place, there was a report that officers located a person with an illegal knife. They were booked on a warrant.
Armed robbery: At 6:54 p.m. in the 5000 block of Southwest Dash Point Road, there was a report that officers responded to Palisades Park for a report of an armed robbery.
March 17
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Sexual act: At 12:17 a.m. in the 2400 block of South 319th Place, there was a report that a man was performing a sexual act on himself outside while holding a knife. Officers arrived on the scene, then detained and arrested the suspect.
Inappropriate touching from the doctor: At 2:29 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 324th Place, there was a report from a woman that she had been inappropriately touched during a medical exam at her doctor’s office. A police officer met with her and took a recorded statement, and then met with the staff at the doctor’s office. A report was completed and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
Large food orders: At 4:24 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report from a restaurant owner that he had received calls multiple times for large food orders that were never picked up, which totaled around $2,000. Officers told the owner not to take any business from that phone number in the future. No crime has been committed at this time.
March 18
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Possible robbery vehicle fled: At 2:38 a.m. in the 34000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, officers ran a plate of a vehicle associated with a robbery. The vehicle fled and escaped.
Lost fights posted on Instagram: At 9 a.m. in the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South, a juvenile told police that there were multiple videos of them losing fights posted on Instagram by another juvenile, and they wanted them to stop. Evidence submitted.
Propane theft: At 8:26 a.m. in the 34000 block of Hoyt Road Southwest, there was a report that 13 five-gallon propane tanks were stolen from the location overnight. Video footage showed four men wearing all black arriving in an SUV with unknown plates. They broke the lock on the gate and stole the tanks. No suspect information.
